The eHub is the document routing engine within the F4F B2B Platform. It examines the metadata sent with your files and business documents, and uses it to route the data to its destination.

It routes business documents by the following means:

• Receive
• Decrypt
• Pass payload to Tracking & Alerts
• Execute bespoke tasks
• Re-encrypt
• Send

The destination address for the message and the means by which it is to be delivered are carried as metadata, configured in the sending Adapter.

For every business document received, the eHub also receives around 10 other XML messages from the sending and receiving Adapters in the flow for that document. These are “event” messages, which record exactly what has happened to the business document on its journey from source to destination. They are passed to the Tracking & Alerts module, which allows you to know exactly what has happened to your business documents.
